Critics Views and Fan-mail following the Women's Blues Revue in Toronto, 2002.

There were two or three other superb knock em dead performances. Most noteworthy by far was
blues harp wonder Tracy K's soulful, raw harp deliveries. She opened the proceedings with
a seasoned harp technique that effortlessly wowed and impressed the audience. Later in the
first set, Tracy awed the crowd before intermission, with a gut-wrenching harp solo that was
beyond impressive, elevating Tracy's performance to sheer harp joy. It was highly enjoyable
listening to and watching her perform her harp magic for the enthusiastic crowd at the Music Hall.

Tracy K was outstanding in leading off the show. She quickly injected a high
level of energy together with the grit that is an integral part of her
performance.

Tracy K was really cookin' on harp at the Women's Blues Revue last Saturday night at the Music Hall.
In her own showcase as well as backing, her harp playing was impeccable. Quality harp playing by Tracy,
reminiscent of what David Rotundo puts out. Well worth catching her gigs whenever she's in town.
Her CD sold out at the Sat. night show, but she's at the Q Bar gig Monday night (tonight),
592 Queen St. W. at Bathurst St. If you dig great harp playin' you gotta see Tracy in action ... well worth it!

Thanks again for a great show at the WBR. I wish more of the guests had as much enthusiasm
as you had. You deserve to do a whole two hour show on your own in that venue! There was lots
of buzz about you in the lobby afterwards.

Let me say it was a pleasure meeting you on Saturday. It was a real treat
to hear you at the WBR. You are very talented. I enjoyed your set very
much. Anyhow, I hope to hear you play soon when you are
back in the GTA area. Please keep me informed
if you will be coming to Toronto soon. I'll hopefully see you also at some
of the Blues festivals.

Saw Tracy K at the 16th Annual Toronto Blues Society Women's Blues Revue last
night. What a talented musician! My group of friends and I wanted to purchase
CD's and were disappointed that they were all sold out. How can we order some?
Would love to see and hear her perform in Toronto again.
Thanks

Hi Tracy,
I was at the Womens' Blues Revue concert in Toronto last Saturday and was
blown away by your performance. Would love to order a cd from you.
Thanks,

If no one's mentioned it, Hugh's Room in Toronto would be a great place for
you to play.

Tracy K, star harp player at the Women's Blues Revue at the Music
Hall, last Sat. night, rocked the Q Bar jam as featured performer,
then proceeded to L'Arte, 2060 Dundas St. W. to
hang out with and jam with Julian Fauth.
The rousing energy at Q Bar's Tracy K showcase set you could cut with a knife. How's that for a
very cool, rewarding night (and weekend) of the blues, with Canada's
premier 'Mojo Mama' of dem ol' blues on de harp she plays so well ...
Tracy K. She was an asset to the Women's Blues Revue, as she was this
past night, brightening up considerably Gary 17's Q Bar jam, then
proceeding to brighten up Julian Fauth's L'Arte jam. Looks like
Julian and I and all those who were lucky enough to see and talk to
Tracy this past weekend, have made a new friend in the blues ...!
Tracy .. have a safe drive to Thunder Bay, and knock the 'thunder'
outta your harps in concert there tonight.

--------------------

Doc McClean, was on washboard at the L'Arte jam with me, Julian, Tracy
K, as well as Bernie Singer on soprano sax ... (a rare treat with
Bernie.) Doc's played with Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Son House and
a slew of others, here, as well as in Chicago and elsewhere, so a
great pleasure and honor to jam with Doc as well. Very special that
Tracy had a chance to share her harp magic with Doc and Julian. Three
blues greats in one place at one time, rockin' the blues ... beautiful
to listen to and enjoy being part of!

I got to see Tracy K at the Black Swan earlier this year. Although I
missed the Women's Blues Review (I was at The Silver Dollar for Duke
Robillard), I recommend seeing her if you get a chance - and I
recommend her cd. I've brought it out many times to play for my
friends and we all love it. "Slow Dance" in particular is a classic.

Cheers,
