SEPTEMBER TOUR COMING UP SOUTHERN ONTARIO! see poster

Known internationally for beltin' out the blues with her Right Hand Band, Tracy K's desire to form a specific kind of acoustic duo was fulfilled after moving to Thunder Bay, Ontario in 2004. She met Jamie "Snakeman" Steinhoff, a humble, funny-guy by nature and chef by trade. When he's not cookin' in the kitchen he's cookin' on guitar! Ms. K pulled him out of the kitchen, stuck him onstage and now they cook together! Their 2011 release Canned Heat introduces the pairing of this unknown bluesman guilty of preserving authenticity with the award winning performer.

"For old time Blues and Beyond, done right, I give "Canned Heat" my highest rating of 5*****" - John Vermilyea (Blues Underground Network)

Woodshedding for over twenty years, Steinhoff’s dedication to early folk and blues from the 1920s to 40s is revealed in his beautiful Piedmont finger style guitar work and Delta slide. With gritty, soulful vocals he sings clever songs with funny lyrics. He's been caught playing banjo too! The duo's steamy blues and lively rags, contemporary originals and vintage gems make up their sound. Their 2011 debut release 'Canned Heat' has picked up some five star reviews, like this one:

Highlights include CBC Radio One and Two live recordings, a private performance in the Caribbean, opening for Ramblin' Jack Elliot and co-writing an epigrammatic song for the Six String Nation Guitar tour. They tour acoustic venues and festivals across the land, packing their Tracy K's Stolen Apple Jelly and Snakeman's Canned Heat Salsa.

"…a program of pre-war blues and originals highlighted by excellent rapport & expert playing, their vocals are assured & confident." - J.Valentyn, Toronto Blues Society/Maple Blue Magazine, 2011

Raspy voiced Tracy K has experienced the thrill of earning awards for her performing, songwriting and harmonica skills. Her incredible Right Hand Band was nominated as Best Electric Act by Winnipeg blues.com and performed in two Los Angeles movie productions. Jamie plays on Tracy K's two award winning songs from her 2007 release Old, New, Borrowed and Blues. Together Tracy and Jamie have been recorded by CBC Radio’s “Bandwidth” and “Canada Live”, gave a private performance in the Carribean, and co-wrote an epigrammatic tribute for Jowi Taylor’s Six String Nation Guitar tour. One buyer claims "they produce a memorable show you’ll carry long in your heart"! "
